En 2017, 11 millions de d\u00e9c\u00e8s et 255 ann\u00e9es de vie corrig\u00e9es de l&rsquo;incapacit\u00e9 (AVCI) ont \u00e9t\u00e9 attribu\u00e9s \u00e0 des facteurs de risque alimentaires. Une consommation \u00e9lev\u00e9e de sodium, une faible consommation de grains entiers et une faible consommation de fruits se sont r\u00e9v\u00e9l\u00e9es \u00eatre les principaux facteurs de risque alimentaires pour les d\u00e9c\u00e8s et les <a href=\"\/Disability-Adjusted_Life_Year\" title=\"Disability-Adjusted Life Year\">AVCI<\/a> \u00e0 l&rsquo;\u00e9chelle mondiale<sup id=\"cite_ref-2\" class=\"reference\"><a href=\"#cite_note-2\">(2)<\/a><\/sup>.<\/p>\n<p>D&rsquo;autres facteurs alimentaires sont associ\u00e9s \u00e0 la mortalit\u00e9, notamment un apport sous-optimal en :<sup id=\"cite_ref-:1_3-0\" class=\"reference\"><a href=\"#cite_note-:1-3\">(3)<\/a><\/sup><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Noix et graines<\/li>\n<li>Viandes transform\u00e9es<\/li>\n<li>Acides gras om\u00e9ga-3 d&rsquo;origine marine<\/li>\n<li>L\u00e9gumes<\/li>\n<li>Boissons sucr\u00e9es<\/li>\n<li>Mati\u00e8res grasses poly-insatur\u00e9es<\/li>\n<li>Viandes rouges non transform\u00e9es<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Les physioth\u00e9rapeutes proposent des interventions holistiques \u00e0 leurs clients, en mettant l&rsquo;accent sur l&rsquo;<a href=\"\/Therapeutic_Exercise\" title=\"Therapeutic Exercise\">exercice physique<\/a>. Dans la communaut\u00e9, ce sont 10 \u00e0 30 % d&rsquo;entre elles qui en souffriraient.<sup id=\"cite_ref-:2_6-0\" class=\"reference\"><a href=\"#cite_note-:2-6\">(6)<\/a><\/sup> La malnutrition nuit \u00e0 la r\u00e9cup\u00e9ration fonctionnelle et affecte n\u00e9gativement la <a href=\"\/Quality_of_Life\" title=\"Quality of Life\">qualit\u00e9 de vie<\/a> apr\u00e8s la sortie d&rsquo;un centre de r\u00e9adaptation.<sup id=\"cite_ref-:2_6-1\" class=\"reference\"><a href=\"#cite_note-:2-6\">(6)<\/a><\/sup><\/p>\n<p>Les facteurs de risque de malnutrition sont les suivants :<sup id=\"cite_ref-:3_7-0\" class=\"reference\"><a href=\"#cite_note-:3-7\">(7)<\/a><\/sup><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>La d\u00e9gradation de la dentition (la mastication et la <a href=\"\/The_Relationship_Between_Posture_and_Swallowing\" title=\"The Relationship Between Posture and Swallowing\">d\u00e9glutition<\/a> peuvent devenir difficiles)<\/li>\n<li>Les troubles <a href=\"\/Cognitive_Impairments\" title=\"Cognitive Impairments\">cognitifs<\/a> (les patients peuvent ne pas se souvenir s&rsquo;ils ont mang\u00e9 ou non)<\/li>\n<li>La <a href=\"\/Polypharmacy\" title=\"Polypharmacy\">polypharmacie<\/a> (l&rsquo;interaction de plusieurs m\u00e9dicaments peut diminuer l&rsquo;absorption des nutriments)<\/li>\n<li>Les enjeux financiers<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Les physioth\u00e9rapeutes doivent \u00eatre conscients de la pr\u00e9valence et des risques associ\u00e9s \u00e0 la malnutrition, car elle peut avoir un impact significatif sur la progression de la r\u00e9adaptation d&rsquo;un patient.
