Es wird als Drehscharniergelenk bezeichnet, da es sich wie ein Scharniergelenk (Ginglymus) beugen und strecken sowie als Drehgelenk (Art. trochoidea) um eine Achse drehen kann (d. h. Pronation und Supination). Es verhindert den Valgus und sorgt f\u00fcr die posteromediale Stabilit\u00e4t. Es besteht aus Pars anterior und Pars posterior sowie einem st\u00fctzenden transversalem Band (Cooper-Ligament). Die Pars anterior ist in der Extension st\u00e4rker gespannt und entspannt sich in der Flexion, w\u00e4hrend sich die Pars posterior in der Flexion anspannt und in der Extension entspannt. So ist die Pars anterior bei der Ellbogenextension anf\u00e4lliger f\u00fcr Valgusbelastungen, w\u00e4hrend die Pars posterior bei der Ellbogenflexion anf\u00e4lliger f\u00fcr Valgusbelastungen ist.<sup id=\"cite_ref-7\" class=\"reference\"><a href=\"#cite_note-7\">(7)<\/a><\/sup><\/p>\n<p>Der laterale Kollateralbandkomplex (LCLC) verhindert einen Varus und ist der prim\u00e4re Stabilisator gegen Au\u00dfenrotationsbelastungen. Er wird durch das Lig. collaterale ulnare laterale (LUCL), das Lig. collaterale radiale und das <a title=\"Annular Ligament\" href=\"\/Annular_Ligament\">Lig. anulare radii<\/a> gebildet.<\/p>\n<p>Die Gelenkkapsel umgibt alle drei Gelenke des Ellenbogens. Medial und lateral gibt es eine Verdickung der Gelenkkapsel, die mit dem MCLC bzw.
