Die vestibul\u00e4re Rehabilitation konzentriert sich daher auf die Behandlung dieser Bereiche der Pathologie bzw. Dysfunktion. Obwohl sie manchmal synonym verwendet werden, beschreiben sie verschiedene Zust\u00e4nde:<sup id=\"cite_ref-:0_1-4\" class=\"reference\"><a href=\"#cite_note-:0-1\">(1)<\/a><\/sup><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Der Begriff des \u201eunspezifischen Schwindels\u201c (\u201edizziness\u201c) beschreibt eine Vielzahl von Empfindungen wie Benommenheit, Desorientierung und Pr\u00e4synkope<sup id=\"cite_ref-10\" class=\"reference\"><a href=\"#cite_note-10\">(10)<\/a><\/sup><\/li>\n<li>Ein Drehschwindel hingegen (&#8222;vertigo&#8220;) ist eine spezifische Art von Schwindel, bei der die Illusion von Bewegung in der Umgebung entsteht (z. B. Drehen, Herumwirbeln)<sup id=\"cite_ref-:0_1-5\" class=\"reference\"><a href=\"#cite_note-:0-1\">(1)<\/a><\/sup><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Ein Drehschwindel kann sowohl durch periphere als auch durch zentrale vestibul\u00e4re Erkrankungen verursacht werden.<sup id=\"cite_ref-11\" class=\"reference\"><a href=\"#cite_note-11\">(11)<\/a><\/sup> Obwohl es sich meistens um einen reinen rotatorischen Schwindel handelt (d. h. der Raum dreht sich um den Patienten), kann es auch zu linearen St\u00f6rungen kommen, oder, seltener, dass der Patient das Gef\u00fchl hat, dass sich sein K\u00f6rper relativ zur Umgebung bewegt.<sup id=\"cite_ref-:0_1-6\" class=\"reference\"><a href=\"#cite_note-:0-1\">(1)<\/a><\/sup><\/p>\n<p>Schwindel ist in jeglicher Form ein rein subjektives Ph\u00e4nomen. Es gibt keine <a title=\"Outcome Measures\" href=\"\/Outcome_Measures\">objektive<\/a> M\u00f6glichkeit, ihn zu messen. B. Makuladegeneration, Grauer Star), mit dem <a title=\"Optic Nerve\" href=\"\/Optic_Nerve\">Sehnerv<\/a> zusammenh\u00e4ngen oder auf Probleme bei der visuellen Verarbeitung zur\u00fcckzuf\u00fchren sein.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Psychogener Schwindel<sup id=\"cite_ref-:0_1-11\" class=\"reference\"><a href=\"#cite_note-:0-1\">(1)<\/a><\/sup>\n<ul>\n<li>Schwindel kann Angstzust\u00e4nde ausl\u00f6sen und Angstzust\u00e4nde k\u00f6nnen wiederum einen Schwindel verursachen<sup id=\"cite_ref-:5_14-1\" class=\"reference\"><a href=\"#cite_note-:5-14\">(14)<\/a><\/sup><\/li>\n<li>Der rein psychogene Schwindel kommt jedoch nicht h\u00e4ufig vor.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><a title=\"Cervicogenic dizziness: screening\" href=\"\/Cervicogenic_dizziness:_screening\">Zervikogener Schwindel<\/a>\n<ul>\n<li>Ein klinisches Syndrom, das durch unspezifischen Schwindel und damit verbundenen Nackenschmerzen gekennzeichnet ist. Es gibt keine definitiven klinischen oder Labortests f\u00fcr die Bestimmung eines zervikogenen Schwindels. Er enth\u00e4lt die Neuronen, die die Kopfbewegungen erkennen. Die Neuronen sind in eine Matrix aus Blutgef\u00e4\u00dfen und Bindegewebe eingebettet, die sogenannte Crista ampullaris. An diese Neuronen sind spezialisierte Mechanorezeptoren, die so genannten \u201eHaarzellen\u201c, angeschlossen.<sup id=\"cite_ref-:7_23-0\" class=\"reference\"><a href=\"#cite_note-:7-23\">(23)<\/a><\/sup> Jede Haarzelle enth\u00e4lt eine gro\u00dfe Anzahl von querverbundenen Aktinfilamenten, die als Stereozilien bezeichnet werden.
