Allein in den Vereinigten Staaten von Amerika (USA) treiben mehr als 46,5 Millionen Kinder Sport.<sup id=\"cite_ref-2\" class=\"reference\"><a href=\"#cite_note-2\">(2)<\/a><\/sup> Die Vorteile k\u00f6rperlicher Aktivit\u00e4t liegen auf der Hand,<sup id=\"cite_ref-3\" class=\"reference\"><a href=\"#cite_note-3\">(3)<\/a><\/sup> doch kann die Teilnahme am formellen Sport auch zu \u00dcbertraining, \u00dcberlastungsverletzungen und Burnout f\u00fchren. Jedes Jahr werden mehr als 10 Prozent der amerikanischen Kinder unter 14 Jahren wegen Sportverletzungen behandelt.
